Mat Pilates Teacher Training

Our Mat Pilates Teacher Training is a comprehensive, in-person program designed to develop confident, knowledgeable, and highly skilled instructors. Held over four consecutive weekends in a stunning space in Miami, this course blends classical Pilates foundations with a contemporary approach, while emphasizing the art of instruction — not just the exercises.

The Foundations of Pilates

YOU WILL LEARN:
  • History and philosophy of Pilates
  • Core principles: breath, control, precision, flow, concentration, and centering
  • The connection between breath, movement, and core stability
  • The classical exercises and how to combine with with the contemporary style without losing the art of pilates.

Anatomy & Biomechanics

YOU WILL LEARN:
  • Functional anatomy relevant to Pilates
  • Spine, pelvis, and core musculature
  • Movement patterns (flexion, extension, rotation, etc.)
  • Alignment, joint stacking, and safe movement mechanics

Classical & Contemporary Pilates

YOU WILL LEARN:
  • Breakdown of classical mat exercises
  • Introduction to contemporary variations
  • Understanding purpose, muscle activation, and proper form
  • Learning how to blend both styles seamlessly

Class Programming & Structure

YOU WILL LEARN:
  • How to build and structure a class
    (warm-up → build → peak → cool down)
  • Layering and sequencing exercises effectively
  • Creating balanced, full-body workouts
  • Designing classes for different levels

Teaching & Cueing Skills

YOU WILL LEARN:
  • Clear, confident verbal cueing
  • Hands-on corrections and client guidance
  • Demonstration vs. instruction
  • Class pacing, energy, and presence

Modifications & Client Adaptation

YOU WILL LEARN:
  • How to teach mixed-level classes
  • Offering regressions and progressions
  • Working with injuries and limitations
  • Introduction to pre- and post-natal considerations

Practical Teaching Experience

YOU WILL LEARN:
  • Practice teaching throughout the program
  • Real-time feedback and refinement
  • Mock classes with peer participation
  • Final teaching assessment
